Would you like the opportunity to be more involved in events specifically for carers or do you sometimes feel you need a break from your caring role?
Actitivities are arranged to inform carers about practical help available for people who may be feeling isolated, exhausted or ill as a result of their caring responsibilities.
During Carers Week, in June each year, the Carers Centre organises events and activities for carers. An annual Newcastle Carers Information event is held during Carers Week.
We also bring together carers to talk about local and national issues that affect carers and ensure other organisations, for example the local authority, are aware of carers views.
We have also recently started organising two-day respite breaks to Shepherd’s Dene retreat centre.
Carers Centre Newcastle also hosts an annual Christmas lunch and party.
